Violin
Milica Curic studied violin perfomance, and has earned her Master's Degree in Music at the University of Belgrade, Serbia. Throughout her violin studies, she collaborated with distinguished professors such a Prof. Michael Frischenschlager, Prof. Stefan Kamilarov from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, Austria, Prof. Pavel Berman in Italy, and Prof. Blagorodna Taneva in Bulgaria.
Prior to relocating to Canada, Milica - known as Melissa - resided in Vienna, Austria. There she flourished as a freelance musician and contributed her talents to various youth orchestras. Her rich orchestral experience includes performances with European ensembles such as University of Belgrade Orchestra, Beethoven Symphony Orchestra Vienna, Junge Philharmonie Wien, Mölding Symphony Orchestra, Konservatorium Wien Private Universitat Orchestra, and Prayner Konservatorium Wien Orchestra.
In addition to her accomplishments as a performer, Milica is a dedicated violin teacher with a unique approach. Grounded in the philosophy of simplicity for playing and a passion for music she guides her students to success. Many of her students regularly excel at RCM exams and have achieved success in regional and international competitions.
Since moving to Toronto in 2011, Milica has earned her OCT teacher certificate and shared her love of teaching with many students. Alongside her role as the owner of the Kingsway School of Music,inspired by her 3 young children and her love of music and learning, Milica chose to create the Baby Piano toddler music program to introduce preschool children to music through a professional, creative, interactive and structured environment, where the fun of learning is celebrated.
