Melissa Danis
Vocal, Piano
Theatrical and musical sensitivity are the trademarks of French-Canadian Lyric Soprano Mélissa Danis. As said in Stage Opera Review, “Mélissa Danis has a bright, firm soprano full of many hues. She displays precise runs and solid top notes as well as an expressiveness usually lacking in young singers. It is no wonder that she was greeted with bravos and thunderous applause.”
Miss Danis recently completed a fellowship program as a Vocal Scholar at The Royal Conservatory of Music –
Glenn Gould School under the guidance of Adrienne Pieczonka. In 2021, she graduated with her Master's Degree from The University of Toronto’s Opera School. In May 2019, she graduated with honors from The Glenn Gould School with her Bachelor's in Voice Performance.
Miss Danis’ recent performances with the Glenn Gould School include Danica in Svadba (Sokolovic) and Almirena in Handel’s opera Rinaldo. In addition, her performances with U of T Opera consist of Micaëla in La Tragédie de Carmen (Bizet), A Little Night Music where she performed Mimi in the quartet Addio dolce Svegliare alla
Mattina (Puccini), Maria Bertram in Mansfield Park (Dove), and Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro (Mozart).
In addition to Miss Danis performances in Canada, she also performed among the Choral De La Salle and as a soloist in the South of France, the Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral in Paris and the Vatican in Rome, Italy.
