Sabina Sandvoss

Cello

Sabina is a passionate music educator and cellist currently completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance with Honours at The Glenn Gould School. Specializing in solo performance, chamber music, and orchestral repertoire, Sabina focuses on score detail, musical expression, and effective technique, believing that music serves as a powerful form of expression and a vessel for joy.

Sabina's teaching approach blends technical proficiency with musical expression, encouraging students to find their unique voice as musicians. She carefully considers each student’s individual goals, strengths, and learning style to create a supportive and inspiring environment where they feel empowered to explore, take risks, and grow both as cellists and as individuals. Sabina believes in helping students progress at their own pace while developing a deep love for the cello.

Throughout her career, Sabina has had the privilege of learning from world-renowned cellists such as Colin Carr, Anssi Karttunen, Laurence Lesser, Hans Jørgen Jensen, and Andrés Díaz. As a consistent finalist in the Canadian Music Competition, with scores as high as 97%, she has performed as a soloist with four different orchestras and attended prestigious summer programs by invitation.

A lover of nature, animals, reading, painting, and spending time with friends, Sabina brings a warm, communicative, and supportive spirit to teaching. With experience as a teaching assistant for early childhood cello classes and in teaching adult students, Sabina is eager to connect with students of all ages and backgrounds, fostering a love for music and helping them grow in their musical journey.
