Peter Ryan

Peter is an accomplished musician and dedicated educator with a Bachelor of Music from New York University and a Master's of Music from the University of Cincinnati. Currently completing his Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) degree, Peter has six years of teaching experience, during which he has helped numerous students achieve their musical goals. His approach to teaching is centered on instilling a deep love for music and the creative process, ensuring that each student finds joy not only in playing their instrument but also in the journey of learning.

Lessons are tailored to each student's individual skill level and musical interests, with personalized technical and musical plans that inspire growth and development. The process of learning a new piece is made as enjoyable as performing it for friends and family. With a strong background in orchestral performance and a passion for exploring new music, he brings a wealth of experience to his teaching. He has competed in prestigious chamber competitions, including being a quarter-finalist in the Fischoff International Competition and winning bronze in the Hong Kong International Chamber Competition with his piano trio.

His teaching philosophy embraces a wide range of musical genres, from classical to pop, rock, and jazz, offering students a well-rounded and exciting musical education. Outside the classroom, he enjoys bird watching, dancing, and hockey, bringing a dynamic and enthusiastic energy to all aspects of his life and teaching. Passionate about helping students discover the joy of music-making, he fosters creativity and guides them toward achieving their full potential as musicians.
